Upper Strings Studio offers Violin and Viola lessons to those interested in developing their musical abilities through individual professional guidance. Classes are available in person in Amsterdam or online.
Our teachers are highly experienced both as instructors and performers throughout Europe. Lessons are offered to students of all ages and levels of learning, from beginners to Bachelor and Master level students, and can be given in English, Russian, Ukrainian or Portuguese.

Currently living in Amsterdam, violinist Tamila Kharambura frequently performs as a soloist with orchestra and presents herself in recitals and chamber music concerts within Europe. She plays in various orchestras in Austria, Portugal and the Netherlands.
Tamila was born in Ukraine and grew up in Portugal. She holds Masters Degrees in Teaching from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (Portugal), and in Performance from the Graz Kunstuniversität (Austria). Since 2016, she has taught as Professor of Violin at the university Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. She has premiered works by distinguished composers, most notably the Violin Concerto by Portuguese composer António Pinho Vargas, and has recorded several CDs.
Australian born Paul Tulloch is a professional violist and violinist living in Amsterdam. He has more than a decade of teaching experience and has performed in Europe, America and Australia as an orchestral and chamber musician. Apart from instrumental playing, he is an accomplished singer, having performed and recorded with renowned ensembles in Australia.
Paul holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Melbourne, a Masters from Florida International University, USA, where he was also employed as a Teaching Assistant, and currently is completing Soloist Studies (Konzertexamen) at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Germany.
Following their passion for education, they together founded in 2017 the Hortênsia Music Festival, a yearly classical music festival located in the beautiful city of Angra do Heroísmo on the island of Terceira, Azores (Portugal), offering diverse chamber music concerts and daily masterclasses for students of all ages.
